This is my 2nd entry and I have decided to talk about drum. :)
I’m playing for Epic Youth/Epic Band this Friday. I’m so happy. I love playing drum in my free time but I’m always in high spirit when it comes to playing for my youth/God. It feels so great and privilege to be playing. I sound so childish but it’s awesome because it’s for God. I really can’t describe the feeling of more than just happiness and there seriously no words to describe it. When I’m playing, I can feel this sensation/probably is the adrenalin, flowing in me and I feel so privilege to be able to play. Ever since I started playing for the Epic Youth Band, I’ve gain quite a lot of experience, maybe in term of skills and stuff, like timing, different style of playing during praise and worship and etc. I’ve been playing Hillsongs’ songs, Planetshakers’ songs, and songs written by my youth pastor or a member of the band. I like PS’s praise but prefer HS’s worship. Anyways, both of them are good Christian youth bands and there are some other Christian bands outside but I haven’t got a chance to listen to. I really admire PS’s drummer, Mike Webber, he is such an awesome drummer. He is so good and he really puts the word ‘beat (aka tempo or rhythm)’ into the songs in PS’s songs/albums. I also like the drummers for HS; their drum beats are so laid back and it’s nice to listen to. Well, I think, it’s only my opinion, PS’s are written, from the inspiration God (of course it is, then why else would it be so nice to here), and aim for the youth of every nation because their songs are upbeat and make up jump like me in youth, jumping like crazy if you didn’t. While HS’s songs are written mostly for everyone, young or old, youth or adults, because if you listen to it, it sort of sounds this way and it feels really nice and smoothing. Then you also have Hillsongs United which is made for youth like me/ all of the others. Anyways, both of the bands are awesome. My all time favourite worship, for some reason I like worship songs more than praises, for HS’s is Shout unto God; if you listen to the words, it is so powerful and it’s such a good song for any occasion. For PS’s, it’s Saving Grace, it’s from their new album Free. The words are also so impactful and meaningful at the same time and the other one is Healer which is written by Mike Gulgamucci, hope I spelt it correctly. Bottom-line is that I love drumming as much as I love God because that’s where I feel the closest to Him. If I’m in heaven, I wish I could play drum for Him day and night. It would be like PS and HS joined with other youth band like Youth Alive, etc, and all the musicians, we all the play for Him. It would be so awesome. Hahahaha!!! Sorry, hope I didn’t bring any wrong idea in the wrong way. But then, it’s quite true because God throws a party for every soul that is saved and entered into His Kingdom.
